Monsoon Magic

Rains have always fascinated me. Maybe, it has to do something with the fact of having come into the world, on a very wet day. Each birthday evening in childhood was spent hoping that all my friends would turn up, despite the rains, to savor the hot, home-made snacks. Commuting by local trains to college … Continue reading Monsoon Magic

The Dilemma

The ‘moo’ is strong enough to have divided the nation. The cow had always been a useful animal in the agrarian economy, and a nation that loved dairy products. The loyalty and meek nature of the animal, has endeared cows to several families, bordering on worship. Yesss… the key to action lies in this word. … Continue reading The Dilemma

DIAMANTE

Another form of fun poetry based on shape, just the one in this case, a diamond.

The purpose is to go from the subject at the top of the diamond to another totally different (and sometimes opposite) subject at the bottom. A seven line poem, shaped like a diamond.

Top both opposites, bottom, change of subject. Anything other than the latter then shaped or concrete as per the rules for this type of fun arrangements could be used.

It seemed that she had been to so many funerals.  She had seen friends some buried and others taken off to the crematorium.  Her young husband had died several years ago and though she had loved him, she didn’t cry even at his funeral.

But here she was watching the young men of the family lift her Grandmother’s casket and walk it out of the church.  And here she was crying.

She thought of that wonderful old lady.  She had been there for her since her mother had been taken…

Emotions

What did I do to deserve this? How could the project I was handling be given to someone else? I have handled it, in the initial difficult stages, when nobody knew anything on the subject. And this guy comes with no qualification or experience, other than his affiliation to a certain group….   Inspired by … Continue reading Emotions
