People once present to me with all their charisma and lust for life are now phantoms in my mind. I try to recall some image that captures their life’s essence but come up empty.

My wife says ” Do you remember Richard, that tall, skinny guy, bald head which he covered with that outlandish hat. He had that red bushy beard which grew down to his chest, always cracking jokes. You must remember. “

I recall the name and his allotted space in the gallery of my mind but Richard is just a reflected shadow lacking the colour and vitality of the original. Everything fades with time.

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #98

“A favorite theme which reflects in my writing is perspective. I’m totally fascinated with the potential of this – how it creates different realities for each of us, and impacts the world. One wonders what is truth – scientific evidence, what we feel with our senses or a writer’s take which transports us to a different world.” ©Reena Saxena

This is my take on writing two different perspectives on Arranged Marriage: my personal Perspective and my beloved Mother’s Perspective. I hope everyone enjoys reading this post. Please comment and like if you have a chance.

My Perspective on Arranged Marriage

An Arranged Marriage was never my first choice

I agreed after knowing him and dating him

I am devoted to my parents and they loved me even more

I knew that I shouldn’t be worried.

I believed there was a soulmate in the world, born for me

Just Caption It

Just caption it ….. by Jim Adams

“I had no idea that you are related to Benedict Arnold”, said Lois.  Leo responded, “Apparently one of Benedict Arnold’s descendants Benedict III married his cousin Mary Arnold (who was descended from the William George side of the family) and he gained control of the family estate in Norwich, which I am set to inherit next week.  The Revolutionary War general is best known for being a traitor, which is not something that I am particularly proud of and I only found out last year after I had my DNA tested by 23andMe.  Then I joined Ancestry.com and I found a leaf which led me to my ancestors.  I guess it is better than finding out that I was related to Hitler.”

A Bird’s Eye View

A birds’s eye view …………. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

It’s a bird’s perspective I envy –
the ability to perch up high,
balanced no matter the weather,
unaffected by the drama below –
I shall never know such calm,
being afraid of heights.

Just a matter of perspective

A perspective by kittysverses ….

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

Generation gap, is the title that is given if a person of one generation doesn’t see eye to eye with a person of the other. While the older generation is incorporating their values, the younger ones either follow if they find it of relevance, or merely adjust it to suit the prevailing times. While the older ones can’t blame or compare the younger ones as not being as capable/ wise as them, for it’s them who have incorporated the values, the younger ones shouldn’t make mockery of the bygone generations for not being as modern as them.

Everything boils down to a matter of perspective. Same situation elicit different reactions from different people, stranger still, same situation elicit different reactions from same set of people at different times. Here, nobody is right, neither is anybody wrong. A rainbow can be seen as 7 different colours or a single spectrum of…
