Reena’s Exploration Challenge #102

Who is the public?

By Christine Bialczak

Who is the public, who would yousay

Makes you cry out and run far away?

Why do they matter, why do youcare?

Why do you cry or pull out your hair?

Do they matter, do they understand?

Do they know how they hold your hand?

Don’t feel so trapped as you can get out

Run from the public, privacy no doubt.

How Do We Define value

How do we define Value …. by Len

Only if I knew it then.

I was never good at economics. I always went for people over monetary considerations. Where other people would see dollar signs I would see a person in need. I was content with food and shelter……and perhaps a few books. I married and found another kind of existence. My wife would assign a value to household goods that we were willing to sell on and I would debate and then give them away for free. How do we define value?

Some children of wealthy parents are expected to follow a certain path. It’s the child’s choice. Conform and follow the path or be a starving artist and suffer the consequences. The path of economic stability always wins out. How do we define value?

WISHES AND WHISPERS

Wishes and whispers
if only I knew it then
unrequited love.

Repeats and repents
if only I knew it then
bewailing sorrow

Knowledge and knowing
contented with here and now
happily alive

अगर मैं यह जानता

English translation of Amit Agrawal’s take on the prompt

I’d never love
only if I knew
love is penalised
it leads to the grill

I got – not spring
but lessons in seasons
shedding leaves –
unseasonal, unfulfilled

you turned away…
in betrayal
who wants to drink
-glasses unfilled

Whither love promises
If you are not with me
What’s life , and
what’s being killed?

My individuality
dissolving –O God
find me if you can
now tell me your will…

Only if

Only if …. by hecblogger

hecblogger's avatarPlaying with words

only if I knew it then
I would never let you go
that we’d never meet again
only if I knew it then
silence can cause such pain
I would let go of my ego
only if I knew it then
I would never let you go

A Wistful To Wise Journey

A wistful to wise journey … by Deborah

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #105 – PROMPT:  “Only if I knew it then” – Wistfulness.

Star Point Lighthouse, Dartmouth, England

Oh those “only if” or “if only’s” that at one time held me down in such unnecessary melancholy.  Through the many seasons of growing I have come to realize that the wisdom I know today would have been futile for me to know back then.  I was not spiritually enlightened enough to receive it. I had to go through those years of the foolishness of “spiritual bankruptcy” in order to grow into the wisdom of  “spiritual riches.”

Today I have learned not to dwell in the sad longing of  “what ifs” and instead use the lessons learned through hindsight that become the wisdom of foresight.  By doing this I have broken the cycle of insanity’s “doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result” to a sane mind…
