What will it take? …. by Jade Li/Lisa

What will it take to breach the wall?
Allow yourself a diff’rent view?
Consider I’m the same as you?
You must or else we all will fall.
A virus scourge that beats them all
Is out to slay and hack and hew
What will it take to breach the wall?
Allow yourself a diff’rent view?
We must not fall to one so small
Please wear a mask as all must do
Until nineteen’s in our rearview
Or face our specie’s last death squall
What will it take to breach the wall?
Today’s offering is in the form of a rondel, which is A French form consisting of 13 lines: two quatrains and a quintet, rhyming as follows: ABba abAB abbaA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats.

Trapped in the abyss of void
consumed by darkness
walking on a tightrope
vacillant steps
the fall inevitable.
Timely intervention
oodles of patience
prodding, gentle unmasking
comforting reassurances
demystifying obscurity.
Finally, a visage of hope
monstrous mind slayed
purpose refocused
perseverance paid off
life saved.
Reena’s Exploration Challenge #144 : Breakthrough
Stressful lifestyle is one of the major factors that cause an emotional imbalance in people today, leading to many mental health challenges, depression being one of them. It is extremely important to identify this issue and provide timely intervention and counseling to such patients, in the absence of which it may lead to suicidal tendencies too.

We are all waiting for a medical breakthrough!
They, the scientists will tell us triumphantly that a cure for this new disease has been discovered. Or a preventative vaccine has been developed. Now it will be safe to live our lives as we did previously.
But till that happens, and it will, I have no doubt, we need to set a few things straight.
• Prevention is always better than a cure
• Taking all due care and caution is not a sign of weakness
• If by using a bit of common sense we can avoid pain and misery, then…

The Quest …. by Len

Professors Morton and Stanley pored over the map, conferring earnestly on the possible whereabouts of Professor Livingstone.
” His last known coordinates were here, in this remote part of the jungle” intoned Stanley pointing with emphasis at the map. ” We need to find him before the government realizes he is no longer present at the university and cancel the grant money”.
Morton concurred ” $50 million in government research grants certainly adds prestige to the university. Despite Livingstone’s unique and theatrical flare for controversial behavior we need him”.
Morton continued ” The man is absolutely beyond belief. I recall the time I was holding forth in the staff room, pleased at receiving my 25th thousand Twitter follower. Livingstone had the audacity to chirp in with a fatuous remark concerning a celebrities dog shitting on the bed receiving 1.2…
