Think it Through…. By Susi Bocks
one doesn’t come across it often
this feat of lyrical astuteness
witnessed in written puzzles
i applaud these cerebral metaphors
enlightening us in phrases
challenging us with humor
to all the creators
with intelligence and sharp wit
a well-deserved hat tip
Light ….by Indira
PROMPT #161- I invite you to meditate on the light this week, and share your take on the subject.
absenceof light
is the root cause of all our fears
let the light reach
the dark corners
of mind, and heart
and enlighten the soul
to accept,
it’s okay to have
some flaws
some flowers
give their fragrance at night best
let me accept
light and darkness both
and
unshackle me
from fears

broken pencils and dirty erasers,
scratched books, crumpled papers,
messy ink marks, scattered pens,
indecipherable letters from trembling hands.
lately, no one understands.
the cold wind hugs the dawn,
drizzles sprinkle then it goes on,
the sky begins to show its wonder,
like how the lightning precedes thunder.
lately, nothing seems better.
a word begins with a thought,
an ounce of ideas suddenly caught,
thunderstorms are usually set,
as a pouring rain was once a droplet.
lately, nobody sees it.
blood and sweat are spilled on the battlefield,
cry out loud and seek a powerful shield,
when tears seem to flow endlessly,
never surrender just let it be.
lately, there’s still hope, maybe.
be brave and bold, do live nobly,
someone loves you unconditionally.
have I told you that lately?
Light …….. by Radhika

a speck,
a flicker
a ray
and finally brilliant radiance
that devours darkness.
Light to me denotes hope and promise
a journey from
ignorance to knowledge
negative to positive
gloom to happiness
chaos to calm
stagnation to growth
pride to humility
I to We.

Light of reveation ….. by VJ Knutson
Failures, like eel grass
lurk in slumber’s waters
entangle me in regret
I’m drowning in should’s
and what if’s, until gasping
I awake with a start
The light of consciousness
releases me from emotional bog
illuminates the rational
I am restored, set upon the shores
of revelation, ready to step
forward with forgiveness.

Serenity’s Trapped ….. by whatifweallcared

Princess Serenity rose from the delicious tea party, thanked her hosts and walked slowly towards the edge of the forest overlooking the misty lake. The landslide had exposed a door in the forest floor long hidden by decades of leaf litter and vegetation.
Serenlity approached the door she moved swiftly, leaving behind her guards. The door pulled open with a swift tug and Serenity stepped into a lift that immediately went down, the door slamming shut behind her! 🚪
The lift seemed to descend forever as though going to the center of the earth! Princess Serenity felt along every wall and the floor and ceiling for some way to stop the lift and escape. She found an aquiline area near the floor, hooked her big toe in it and yanked as hard as she could. …
The lift came to a screeching halt!!
The door opened so so slowly…

Festival of Lights ……. by Happy Soul
I just had no time today. So, posting a few pics taken at home, in response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge: Light
“Subham Karoti Kalyanam Arogyam Dhana Sampadah
Shatru Buddhi Vinashaya Deepa Jyoti Namostute
Meaning: I fold my hands before the light that brings prosperity, auspiciousness, good health, abundance of wealth and destruction of the enemy’s intellect. ( or darkness)
I remember my grand mom reciting this sloka and a few more everyday while lighting the lamp. I loved to accompany her in this ritual. Today, many people celebrate Dhanteras. Whereas for us at home today, it’s a festival where we fill up our buckets, drums with water up to brim, in the evening and perform a small pooja to all the containers that hold water(considered sacred Ganga) and pray for its availability in abundance.
Personally, I love this Festival of Lights- DeeavaLi – literally translates to – a line of…
