French Lovers ….. by Susi Bocks
As
they walk
hand in hand,
smiles radiate,
feelings swell in the backdrop of Paris.

Ring-a-ling ….by Eugenia

sparkles and spangles
the season awoken now
jingle and jangle
melodies sing from the trees
baubles and beads
a wondrous sight to behold
those sad those glad rise
tis the night tis the season
let it be merry
let it be jolly

I chose Reena’s example below as my inspiration –
decorated trees
sway to songs
emanating from
masked lips
imagining smiles
that reach
twinkling toes and
luminous tips

Reverse strategy!
For Reena’s Exploration Challenge #166, we are asked to find an appropriate picture that fits the following two poems.
inkblots mutate
to form pictures,
alphabets,
stories
I did not create
This reminded me of the DC Comics Watchmen character Rorschach. Walter Kovacs was a violent and ruthless vigilante who is driven by moral absolutism. Walter got a job working in the garment industry where he had to handle female clothing. There was a special order for a dress in a new Doctor Manhattan spin-off fabric, made out of two plastic membranes with fluid between them, so the fluid keeps shifting around like a lava lamp. The customer didn’t want it, saying that the dress looked ugly, but Walter thought otherwise, and since no one wanted the dress, he took it home. Two years later, he heard that the customer was raped and tortured outside of her apartment building while her neighbors just…

Hands – Indira’s take on Exploration Challenge #165
Our theme for this week isHANDS.
hands speak
many languages
of
greetings
love
hate
friendship
of
bonds
giving and receiving
empathy
soft touch
hard touch
they unite
they divide
sometimes they touch
you get touch therapy
sometimes they touch
yet
you feel untouched
Fractured, a million minute pieces, a framework crumbled. Not without warning were the signs, no acknowledgement of foundation fissures visible to the naked eye. Source trace immaterial, time works what it will not without cooperation. Of the moment, in the moment, each moment opportunity. Reach outward without prejudice, probability jury willreject, stacked long ago. Your power only, change in the pocket, lay it on the table.

Hand-in-hand ….. by Happy Soul

Growing up together
Rejoicing every win
Love somewhere started to brew
Hand in hand we walked through!
Unfortunate mishap
Lucky, you were alive
In the air, broken hand flew
Hand in hand we walked it through!
Prosthetic hands IN
Tough, indeed a blessing
It’s all metal, no skin no tissues
Hand in hand we walked through!
No more caressing touch
No hi-five, no sound of claps
It’s destiny, nothing much we can do
Hand in hand we will walk through!
I still feel the warmth
I feel my hands clasped in yours,
These eyes convey the feelings so true
Hand in hand we will walk through!
In the roller coaster
Of this life we live
I promise I will always be with you
Hand in hand we will walk through!
Thank you Reena for hosting Reena’s Exploration Challenge .
Don’t miss the beautiful piece —Your hands, My words … by Punam
Your hands hold me protectively
my hands write, evoke life’s glory
the give and take, the working in tandem theory
unfolding every day a new story!
Your hands are pragmatic and solid
keeping me grounded on world stage well nigh!
my words rise loftily high
building a mansion in the sky!
Your hands are cool and neutral
not withdrawn but working methodically
my words spill moodily
somewhat convinced but not completely!
Your strong hands are lovingly gentle
making me twirl giddily on my feet
my words are shy and sweet
promising you heaven, when with thine they meet!
Your hands span my waist
spinning my world dizzily
my words unfurl softly
caressing your feelings tenderly!
Your hands weave magic mostly
with joy they make me scream
my words gush forth like a stream
passionate and full of dreams!
Our hands discover and create
as we continue on this…

Hand Holding …….. by VJ Knutson
Father’s grip
controlling crush
warned against
disobedience
First love
Grade one
holding hands
walking home
A sister’s hand –
frail flesh stretched
over aching bones –
clung to mine
until too hot to touch
I had to let go
while she surrendered
her last breath.
A lover’s hand
lacks stillness –
strokes and cajoles
sensuality evoking desire
Held my children’s hands
with my heart –
never wanting to let go
prideful possession
A granddaughter’s fist
still pink from birthing
wraps around my finger
gripping the unknown
with the ferocity of
one hungry for life
Husband’s hand
reaches for mine
conveys support –
strength to propel
me forward.
Hands convey
what the mind cannot –
a secret language
nuanced for life’s moments
leaving deep impressions.
