Welcome back to a sane world!

PROMPT #191

Xploration Challenge is a real challenge this week, not just a writing prompt. Take your time. It can be more than a week, if needed. I will include it in future weekly wraps.

The challenge is to take a belief, a dream, a philosophy, a religion of yours, and turn it into trash.

Doodle something on a piece of paper, click a picture on your phone and post it here.

Play the Devil’s Advocate. See it from the other end of the bridge. Is there anything that connects you still?

Don’t worry … you will get back to a normal life after that. It is only creativity that matters here.

➰➰➰

What rubbish ideas you have!

Outdated and impractical!

Honesty and hard work you tell me are essential???

Not so my dear I tell…

Empty your sorrows in as much fervour,

As you share your happiness,

Don’t hold back to it,

It ain’t do you any good,

Like dewdrops on leaves dissipate once the rays of light sink in,

Empty your sorrows without any delay,

Amongst stardusts of immortality,

Strands of insanity hidden,

While fickle flames of mortality,

Burns day in and day out,

Silently sane,

Lingering.

Tired of Same Old Endings

Tired of same old endings …by VJ Knutson

I could never tire of reading this…

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Tired of same old endings
in which hopes are slaughtered
and tragedy and insanity win.

Raised by the bottle, learned
to set standards low –
still afraid of heights –
have fallen as the ground
beneath my aspirations crumbled –
a certainly under alcohol’s rule.

Tired of same old endings
in which self is battered by indifference
and ego loses the battle for control.

Mother’s denial a coping mechanism
negating children’s need, obliterating
safety, disregarding long-term damage;
even in older years, when we tried
to get her out, were powerless against
his manipulation, his eternal imprinting.

Tired of same old endings
in which the heroine, resources spent
succumbs to the madness, suicides.

Want to believe in a future, greener,
hopeful, in which relationships
are fulfilling, and life goals are
supported; in which encouragement
is not the ploy of deviousness, and
personal best is rewarded, sustained.

Tired of same old endings

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #190 – Insanity

Insanity ….given a musical quality by Lady Lee

ladyleemanila's avatarLadyleemanila

Let’s try setting up devices
Some nameless products and bridges
A wake up call considering
Something similar to baffling
Insane if you ask me but they are all acting
We’ll never know till we try, so let’s try setting

In this mad world, there’s always one
Who gets into trouble but fun
You may be nameless but I know
People know you as a John Doe
The plot thickening as the mystery unfurled
Anywhere, there is a John Doe in this mad world

You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain
Too much love drives a man insane
You broke my will, but what a thrill
Goodness gracious, great balls of fir
e”

Forget all the platitudes but look what you’ve done to me

Someone who’s cramped me in chains but then again

I’m always aware of you like great balls of fire spree

Lofty search but somehow…

Driving Me Crazy!

Driving me crazy …..by Radhika

The trauma which I had buried deep

mistaking it to be dead,

sadly lay unforgotten, in a slumber

tucked away in a remote corner of my heart.

Shadows eclipsed under the blanket of time emerge,

as ghosts of the past, start to haunt my present.

Wispy fringes of pain gather momentum

inundates my mind with a broody melancholy.

A sense of estrangement overwhelms my being,

conflicting dissonance envelopes my psyche.

Dismantling my marquee of balance,

it holds my sanity to ransom,

driving me to the brink of insanity!

Eugi’s Weekly Prompt – Unforgotten

no one told me
the days of mourning
linger for years

those unforgotten bring us
more bitter than sweet memories
unexpectedly and forcefully

it rises up within us
tears well and overflow incessantly
this insanity of grief, tortuous

when you love hard
you hurt more
death really kills two people

*Note: who hasn’t felt this way one time or another in their lives. That feeling where all is lost and life seems to be insane at that moment, this is how I have coped with it, perhaps you have too. I always loved this song by George Harrison

This isn’t a new poem, it was posted earlier when I first started my blog.

Just Coffee

Just coffee …..by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

After our date, she asked me if I wanted to come in for some coffee.  My mind started racing with thoughts about what I should expect, as did this just mean coffee, or was something else going to happen if I accepted her offer?  This was our first date and I took her out to a nice restaurant and then we parked by the lake and because it was such a beautiful night, we looked up at the stars.  We are both single, and I used all of my charms trying to seduce her, letting her know how much I loved her smile, and how lucky I feel to have met someone so lovely as her.  I usually drink my coffee in the morning and I don’t like decaffeinated, so maybe she meant something more than us just sharing a cup of coffee.

I like her a lot, but even though…

PROMPT #190

A word prompt for this week.

INSANITY

There is no restriction on length of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

➰➰➰➰➰➰

It amounts to insanity, trying to stay sane in these turbulent times

Humanity has decided to play the game without any rules at all

People believe in crazy theories and their talk, even more bizarre

Who can argue with someone who refuses to admit they are wrong

It amounts to insanity, telling people to be sane

Explain to them what is fact and what is pure conjecture

And they will ridicule you to the moon and back

They are engrossed in what they call alternate realities

Seeing conspiracies in each sympathetic word of advice

It is indeed insanity, expecting people to behave sanely
