Welcome to the third century of RXC!

PROMPT #201

Just a sentence. I won’t say anything more.

A stranger in a very strange land..

There is no restriction on length or format of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

➰➰➰

I am A stranger in a very strange land

Lost without a map to guide

There are no signposts no markers

I have to go the wrong way many a times

To find where I really want to go

Making several mistakes before I discover

The right way to do what I want to do

Life is a strange land and I am a stranger

Only by living it that I learn how to

And by that time I am nearing the end

Of this journey, still discovering, still learning

Inspired by Eugenia’s Weekly Prompt – Peace & Reena’s Exploration Challenge #201

who would have thought
being a stranger in a very strange land
looking for better opportunities, peace
and respite from the atrocities of war
would mean a continued fight against another’s bigotry

it hurts this humanist’s heart

Give yourself the Credit you deserve

Woke says, “Give yourself the credit you deserve.” The first entry in this week…

Woke's avatarReflections

Give yourself the Credit you deserve

All the “ifs” I could have avoided when I spoke like I write.

Like I’d let my voice strike the core like my pen strokes on paper. Leaving no marks, just clean strokes as a samurai would when he runs his blade through his enemy.’

But the days will ever be bright because I have steeled myself to be hard enough to deal with the consequences of the “ifs” and whatnots.

Regrets are for suckers.

So a toast to everyone bold enough to put him/herself out there because the hardest part is over, you’ll be here to enjoy the spoils of your victory.

These are the stuff dreams are made of.

The pump don’t work ’cause the vandals took the handle.

Doug Jacquier's avatarSix Crooked Highways

This piece was written for the Six Sentence challenge, with the prompt word of ‘handle’.

Extracts from Bob Dylan’s ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ in italics.

I’m on the pavement, thinking about the government, the secret government of alien reptile paedophiles that rules the world, except it’s not a secret any more because Q-anon told me on their secret internet, the one that’s not controlled by the secret government of alien reptile paedophiles that rules the world.

Look out, kid, it’s somethin’ you did (God knows when) but you’re doin’ it again, writing things people disagree with and getting deleted and becoming the worst sinner of all, a living old white man.

You don’t need a weather man to know which way the wind blows, especially when it blows out the candle of knowledge because some people prefer the black hole of ignorance (I’m looking at you, Karen).

Don’t follow…

Six Sentence Story- Handle This

Susan St.Pierre's avatarSillyfrog's Blog

PROMPT WORD:HANDLE

See the source image

There once was a trucker named Lewis who adopted the CB radio handle ‘The Truth’.

He had dropped out of college to pursue the lucrative trucking profession, partly to annoy his bourgeoisie parents, and partly, to avoid the mounting overwhelming debt he perceived on the horizon.

Lewis had embraced the short collegiate tutoring he’d been exposed to, though, and believed that everyone who never attended university, was stupid, so he felt assured to be the ‘best’ because of his superior intellect.

His blue collar instructors found him an infuriating challenge, during training, primarily because of his arrogant attitude and condescension, so his chosen handle was just an extension of Lewis’ know-it-all persona.

Well, Lewis made many costly mistakes and was considered a liability at his first two jobs where he was ‘let go’ swiftly due to his pigheadedness!

Presenting himself as an ‘expert driver’, on his third…

Colors of Creativity….. By Ramya Tantry

Ramya Tantry's avatarAnd Miles to go before I sleep...

Photo prompt from Reena’s Xploration Challenge – 200

I can see every color mixed with another brings out a variety of colors.
So unique and so diverse.
But will I ever fit in a society which only sees black and white colors
Will, I ever have the freedom to express my creativity
Or
Do I have to repress it to conform to society?
