I am a member of 4-5 womens’ groups on Facebook, each pertaining to a different subject – Money Management, Home Management, Entrepreneurship, Art and so on…
I see at least 3 posts every day which depict a woman’s battles against a patriarchal system, and its impact on other parts of her life. They feel comfortable about sharing their problems in a women-only group, which is laudable. It doesn’t matter that the group is created for a different purpose. More on that later…
Let’s talk about fiction. The storyline of a television show runs around the lives of women police officers and the good social impact they create with their work. The acts are laudable, and each story ends with a salute to the officers. I love watching it.
But then…. One plot centers around a baby being deposited at the police officer’s doorstep with a claim that the…

Make it last ….. by Sadje
Splatter of colors
Stain their faces and clothes too
Some are happy others confused
Life throws a curveball not all can handle
The young ones are instinctively happy
Trying to find pleasure and joy in life
We should try to make their innocence
And happiness last as long as it can
Protect this naivety and purity at all costs

Pain in many colors ….by Mich Navajas

Pain in Many Colors
i’ve seen pain in many different colors
for most yellow,
after the outbreak of pandemic Asians
in the West silently suffered agonizing, terrifying hate crimes,
brutally blamed for kicking off covid -19
elderly people and women alike
were not spared
really, what have they got to do with it?
why so much hate?
i’ve seen pain in many different colors
for most black,
years, even decades have passed yet Negroes
are still considered lowest members of the society
America had their first Black President, along with black men and women
making names in the world, but there is no denying for most they are still nobody
really, what have they got to do with it?
why so much hate?
i’ve seen pain in many different colors
for most white,
when Russia waged a war against Ukraine, Russians all over were regarded criminals
just as how Germans…

Colors of spring …by Lady Lee

Winter tries to hang on
But spring has push it back
Flowers come in the crack
Nature intends to drawn
Like the colour of dawn
Nothing is white nor black
Some buds bloom, pink through green
River is soft, birds tweet
No more snow nor sleet
Buds on branches on scene
Enjoying like a queen
Everything is so sweet
Crocuses and tulips
Daffodils and snowdrops
Pop up like lollipops
Colours like some makeups
Petals burst out in cups
Waking up all the crops
The rain and sunshine come
Time to sound the drum
Kingfisher, loon, swallow
Spring is here – hurrah!

Response to Reena’s Xploration Challenge #221
Uncle stared upon the blocks
The symbols all to him were lost
Uncle never learned to read
Mattered not my Uncle Sweet
Indira’s response to Xploration Challenge #221

Words without feelings
A body without a soul
Just blocks of letters
