I could not capture the rhythm and literal meanings, but here’s a rough translation.

soothing voices
demanding justice
Where has a way of life gone?

face buried in a device
a shy glance goes unnoticed
Where has all attention gone?

stooped shoulders, heavy hearts
not out of school or college yet
Where has the joy of life gone?

hunger sleeps penniless
bystanders merciless
generosity going, going, gone

dry rivers and dry ponds
thirst doing many rounds
hydrated spirits, springs gone

colors of a rainbow look
greyed, wrinkled with smoke
youthfulness of sky gone

Translation for Amit Agrawal, hecblogger’s Hindi poem.

Replenishment

“I can’t believe you did this. Your energy and commitment have been hailed as exemplary, inexhaustible …. How could you?” “Put yourself in my shoes. I need replenishment. And there can’t be a better way than living life on the opposite side. It gives valuable insights.”   Six Sentence Stories

Slipped again

Closure

An auditor’s job has never been easy. One has to raise the right objections, make the right recommendations and not leave any point untouched. There could be pressure to keep the warts concealed from public view. I believe in professional ethics, and writing each word of the audit report was a challenge in that organization. … Continue reading Closure

Karma Coins

I have grown up with quotes from the Bhagvad Gita, but the Karma theory has always baffled me. I understand and I would welcome it, if the rewards and retributions came in the same lifetime. Hinduism talks of reincarnations, multiple lives and a Karma bank, which can propel or pull one down. My query is … Continue reading Karma Coins

Be Not Vain

Prompt Death does not scare me. I am prepared for it anytime, any moment. But …. I wish it is not painful. I wish that a long-drawn illness does not strip my family of all resources. I wish that I do not meet the people I’ve hated on the other end. Death, allow me to … Continue reading Be Not Vain
