Agony of being Me

“Well… you are different” is an oft-repeated phrase I have heard since childhood. I did not bother about the truth in the statement. But I did think what was ‘different’ that was visible to them, but not me. And what did I read in those statements? Ridicule                    I do not belong. And all those … Continue reading Agony of being Me

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #Week 50

freedom 50

Tough challenge this time.

Freedom is when you are not compelled to laugh or applaud the silly joke told by the powerful or successful or…people or your boss.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A Fortune Teller is sitting with his caged parrot, waiting for the people to come and know their fate.

Whenever someone comes he opens the door, parrot comes out, selects a card, gives it to him and goes inside the cage.

Even if the door is open it never tries to fly away, whats more it closes it itself.

Was it for food, security or it has become habituated to living alone, loving the captivity.

Freedom is dangerous and risky perhaps all pets think. Bondage has its own comfort, security, and convenience once you become accustomed to it.

happy in their shackles
of caste, creed, and community
people never try to break away
as fortune tellers parrot

Semi-human

I sweat profusely in humidity of regrets hoping my dry soul escapes divine attention   whispering voices from the wilderness over-power a screaming conscience   I am surprised to see a fraternity joining my loneliness bereft of humanity   Semi-monstrous humans or semi-human monsters swamp the world as I run for cover   Saturday Mix … Continue reading Semi-human

Beyond Reasonable Doubt

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

The sun simmered red as it slunk towards the jagged horizon.  Tomorrow I would have to report to jury duty, but I had heard that it is generally not in the court’s best interest to spend their time and resources to track down people who don’t respond to their summons, so I could probably get away with blowing this off.  Sure I might show up for jury duty and be found exempt after some initial questioning and I know that serving on a jury is a civic duty and part of what keeps the American judicial system honest, but it is also inconvenient.  I thought of Maya Angelou when she said, “You only are free when you realize you belong no place you belong every place”, and maybe I belonged on the jury.  However, I could have this all wrong, as freedom and belonging seem like opposites…

Believe me

I don’t know why the Comet chose privacy, when it struck me. The media remained oblivious of change. I am transformed. I am blessed with supernatural powers. I can see and hear things other mortals cannot. They do not believe that I am going to outlive them. The idiots have locked me up in a … Continue reading Believe me
