This is an interesting concept of Time…..

challenge-52

NOW thought life was a series of hardships. In a flash, it seemed over, and the prospect of regeneration was always called for.

The twisting and contorted requirements to create a new NOW always weighed heavily on it.

But NOW had long been convinced that people required a NOW and it had a responsibility to see that the NOW was always available. As it was, PAST, basked in the knowledge it was always there, constantly being built upon to the point it now consisted of a megalith of history.

There had been a persistent argument within the universe as to the length of NOW. Some called for the NOW to be instantaneous, there for a milli second and then gone. Too bad if people missed it for the concept of NOW was in its purest form just that, NOW. NOW argued that in some cases the NOW could be stretched…

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #Week 52

I stopped in my tracks, on seeing this very intriguing picture. I’m sharing it will all of you as a prompt for this week. It raised a lot of metaphysical questions. I wonder if there could be a light-hearted response to this, such as As long as Later does not arrive….. And if Later is … Continue reading Reena’s Exploration Challenge #Week 52

Beyond

I have never seen fairies or those stubby creatures accompanying them called elves. Maybe, elves were fabricated to help kids identify with someone of their own size. But, fairyland was a promise of happiness after the initial conflict with a monster.  I learnt about juxtaposition, conflicts and battles. pots of gold at the end of … Continue reading Beyond

Story in captivity

The story lay captive on the library shelf, waiting to be discovered, but the right reader had not come as yet. It needed a particular person to know what the trauma meant, and what caused it. The story had started in the same library, two decades ago – meeting someone, an attempt to escape the … Continue reading Story in captivity

Before I present tonight’s contribution to the dVerse prompt, I just want to state that this poem is fiction. I know a lot of poets write from their own lives, but as a fiction writer who desires to be a poet, a lot of my poetry involving people is made up. I don’t think the emotions are or the experiences, but they aren’t mine. Thank you. 🙂

Also, I half read the instruction so I wrote the poem, went back and read the instructions again, because lately my brain is a sieve, and I probably could have done a better job with the prompt. 😦

For Melania

Björn Rudberg (brudberg)'s avatarBjörn Rudbergs writings

Don’t judge the crook by his lover
cause opposites attract
and if you are the flower,
then he is manure;
also remember:
the bigger they are
the louder they bark;
but believe me their biting ain’t sharp;
then remember:
no suit makes a man,
no ties make him sane;
just imagine him nude.
and soon you’ll be free.

Today at dVerse Poetics Jilly want us to play with adages, change them and use them in a piece of poetry. For me this turned into a bit of satire.

He is unable to decide which world is darker – the one he has left behind, or the one he is travelling through the sky now, with an unknown chaperone. Back home, he had heard of a character called Yamaraj, and this guy could probably be him. It does not matter really, as he longs … Continue reading sURREAL
