Parenting a stranger

“Just how could you do that, Anita? She is your flesh and blood.” “Yes, and it placed enormous responsibility on my shoulders. I couldn’t recognize this deplorable monster though she came from me.” “Yet, turning her in to the police?” “We are biologically linked, but two different individuals with different value systems. One has to … Continue reading Parenting a stranger

Nash, who is also a photographer and collector of photographs, has stated in an interview that the immediate inspiration for the song came from a famous photograph by Diane Arbus, Child with Toy Hand Grenade in Central Park.  The image shows a child with an angry expression holding the toy weapon, and this prompted Nash to reflect on the societal implications…

It’s not easy planning a party for vegans and teetotallers. She has spent two days scanning recipes online, writing shopping lists and buying the … Continue reading Flavored

land decimated
nature’s forces so brutal
scared people fleeing

The first thought in my head in response to this prompt is the havoc nature is playing with us in multiple states in the USA. Nature can be so damn beautiful and expressive, then ravage you in an instant.
