Reena’s Exploration Challenge #100

PROMPT

The limitation this week is 100 words, though there is no restriction on the format. It can be prose, poetry, essay, reflections, reminiscences, anecdotes or anything you deem worth sharing.

What does this image invoke in you?

Taking the first step is very difficult in whatever field you venture.

All the negative thoughts start frightening you.

Then there is the fear of what people will say, Perhaps we are more worried about others opinion than our own capability.

No one actually bothers about you.

People have their own fears to fight with.

The only two-faced demon is your mind.

At first, it keeps you pestering with all the negative thought.

Once you make up your mind to go ahead, it starts helping you.

Hard work, perseverance, passion, and faith

opens the door of infinite opportunities for you.

Waiting

My fitbit shows the blood pressure rising. Nobody likes to be stood out. The least John could do was let me know the reason for delay, and at what time should I expect him. To add insult to injury, his phone is switched off. The bugger has lost his next increment. I’m his boss …. … Continue reading Waiting

Credo

Credo … by Len

Reena’s challenge #100 is to write 100 words, poetry or prose on above image.

I believe in the one God, the first cause. outside of time and space, infinite.

I believe in the one son, made concrete by the abstract, to show us a path to love and understanding.

I believe that I do not exist but for the grace of God.

I believe that I am forever changed by the grace of God.

I believe that I should grow, learn, love, and forever strive for the infinite.

I believe that I am one person overwhelmed by the concept of infinity.

Mystical

They touched their cheeks to ensure if it was real. They couldn’t fathom if they were lying on grass, or floating high up amongst leaves. The feet were not touching the ground. The existence was light as a leaf for sure – they were not bothered if their pristine white outfits would stain, or if … Continue reading Mystical

Darkness

The darkness is soothing, but she is grateful for the windows. It prevents claustrophobia. It gives an insight into worlds outside. It gives an opportunity to jump out to end her life. Mental illness was reappearing. It was not possible to get out of this place, or out of her mind. (280 characters) https://katmyrman.com/2019/08/20/twitting-tales-150-20-august-2019/

Once again

The gawkiness of childhood left behind often generated a ‘Was that really me?’ feeling. She blamed the lack of sophisticated parents and a nurturing environment for it. The question she asked herself with embarrassment, was soon replaced with a “Is that really me?” It was again the environment -the psychopath boss and toxicity of a … Continue reading Once again

Advocate for Wonder

Advocate for wonder …. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

I know what infinity means:
it’s one hundred plus one.

Voice of innocence
serene her sense of self
of life’s complexities.

Should borrow from her,
embrace that confidence,
but worry intervenes.

How do we preserve
the wonder of youth,
save her from cynicism?

That it is! I reply,
my smile a warm hug –
vow to be forever advocate.

(I submit this poem, inspired by my six-year-old granddaughter, to three challenges:
Ragtag Community’s, serene;  Fandango’s advocate; and Reena’s Exploration challenge.  Image from personal collection.)

Infinity still beckons

I would love to be somewhere there spreading wings tasting the sky smelling the wind cutting through light falling back on earth smoothly, softly like raindrops to gladden minds and hearts Infinity beckons….   Are you the One, God who keeps me earth-bound with no wings aching feet myopic vision shrivelling up claustrophobic in closed … Continue reading Infinity still beckons

Celebrating

Celebrating … by kittysverses

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

The journey is as beautiful as,

The person choosing to charter, steers it to, whereas,

Not bothering about destination, which would ultimately be reached,

And on that day, the number of days, months, years for as long as it was unreached,

Would matter less,

Yes,

It’s not the end,

But, a start of a wonderful beginning! At every turn and every bend,

When there seems to be a dead end,

The fighting will, unwilling to suspend,

The will to see light at the end of the tunnel,

From every stumble,

Paving way for better tomorrow,

Remembering the efforts from today that I borrow.

103 words.
