Warped

I walk the walls,
my head around the corner
that lies beyond the door.
Precarious in this chair on the ceiling,
I cling to the fan that should not be
on the floor above me, spinning
me in starts and stops. In a world
of contradictions, I touch nothing
and everything at the same time.

Vertigo, my isolation.

This poem is my response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #126,
where the theme is Isolation.

Deep pockets

-biological warfare -a conspiracy to induce mayhem in markets buy low for long-term prosperity -marriages break down claustrophobic with too much togetherness in stressful times   authors spoke long back scripts written now for many more blockbusters to come   all is well that ends well for certain deep pockets   https://onewomansquest.org/2020/03/16/v-j-s-weekly-challenge-88-domino-effect/

Secret recipes

It is the same place where they always meet. Misery is cooked and served with ladles. They like it, because they can always blame the other person for not getting it or choosing right. All said and done, it’s the only place they know of. They’ve never ventured beyond to check if there is another … Continue reading Secret recipes

Layers

a part of the whole a whole divided in parts I deny connectedness by letting smoke envelope my existence, letting it define my incompleteness, creating illusions of wholeness.   masks I wear conceal vulnerability while labelling certain parts of my animal self attributing it to another species masks let me live in peace with my … Continue reading Layers

Isolation’s Hold

‘Isolation’s hold’ .. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

Disability covets isolation –
this stripped-back, box-like state.

Rustic serenity, with room
to breathe would be preferable

but old memories creep in, and
lack of self-worth leaves the door open

phantoms of former torments
unwanted visitors, shadowy

invaders target loneliness,
misconstrue lack of health

for neediness, prey on weak –
hearted, presume incapability.

I am unwell, not unwanted, effort
to protest ignored, I grow wary of

fellow travellers, am vandalized by
nightly attacks, attempt to reach out

aim for strength, logic, clarity,
dial-up past abuse instead, cannot

fathom the purpose of unsolicited
persecution, grasping at isolation.

(Isolation’s Hold was first written in June of 2017.  I am resubmitting it here for Reena’s Exploration challenge: isolation.  Seems to me is also reflective of the times.  Image from personal collection.)

तनहा

English translation in Comments below…

hecblogger's avatarPlaying with words
