It seems like eternity

imprints of past lives on dirty, stained walls leading to exit doors the journey seems  like eternity If I wash myself clean will they not see the stains and believe I’ve changed the journey seems  like eternity will conditioned mindsets  return egged on by sunlight the journey seems  like eternity https://sundayphotofiction.com/2020/04/12/sunday-photo-fiction-apr-5-2020-2/

A battle of will

A battle of will …. by Aishwarya

kittysverses's avatarKitty's Verses

Nature’s complex creation,

Man, right from formation,

To cessation,

A wide variety of emotions, he feels,

He deals,

With overthinking, things in his control and away,

Slowly, comparison, jealousy, baseless competition, in his self, they stay,

Trivial nothings to sleepless nights they make way,

Reality seems reel,

Fantasy seems the only way to heal,

Denial, only way of acceptance,

Wastage of time seeks no admittance,

Everything comes to a standstill,

Amidst, a battle of will.

Agenda

The station reminded her of some great creature, its constant machine whir breathing around her as she worked. It appeared to have a will of its own, not subjugated to human thought processes. She knew it they would come for him, but Herbert refused to listen to her at that point of time. She felt a … Continue reading Agenda

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #130 — Same as it ever was

Talking Heads … a share by Jade Li/Lisa

Lisa or Li's avatarTao-Talk

Once in a Lifetime made me think of the song by Talking Heads with that for the title. The lyrics in the song examine a person’s life through the choices and their responses to those choices. The song could be a template, where you could customize it with the experiences you’ve had based on your choices and the questions those choices and experiences raise. The reality is that each moment of our lives is a unique, converging intersecting opportunity, where our choices shift the configuration of the all. I think they call it the butterfly effect. I used to think that minutely examining past moments and trying to troubleshoot and learn from them was the most valuable thing to do to have a better quality of experiences in the future. The shocking realization that the now was being left out of the equation hit me hard right between the eyes…

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #130 – Once in a Lifetime.

Michael’s take on Exploration Challenge #130

Once in a lifetime

You’d only want it to happen once in your lifetime. The call from the doctor to say your recent pathology test results are in.

You know when they ring the news is never going to be good. I’ve yet to have a ‘once in a lifetime’ call telling me I am well, fit and healthy. I think such sentiments are taken for granted.

As we age our ‘once in a lifetimes’ centre around family and if we are lucky the opportunity to travel. Not around receiving news, you could easily find yourself sinking into the depths of depression as my friend says to me: if she was me and got the news I got she’d go to her bedroom and feel sorry and sook for the rest of time.

But I look at it as I can wake up each day, eat and do things, go…

EXPLORATION PROMPT 129

I invite you to explore either one or both of the following themes in your piece

  1. Addiction
  2. Depression

My face was distorted like a fish out of water, gulping for air.

At last, came a big procession of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaachho! I thought my lungs will burst out and eyes will pop out.

There was a slight fever so I had to take leave from the office for a few days.

To my surprise, everyone, except the sufferer, knew the remedy for it.

Came advice from friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

One thing was common they all came up with the herbal tea.

Ginger, pepper, Tulsi/Basil leaves tea, make a good concoction, add some milk and honey and drink several times.

Does it work?

No.

But I suffered from acidity and burning sensation in the food pipe.

I had not heard of black tea or green…
