The deep, dark web …….. by Shweta Suresh
Life might seem simple But it's anything but! Memories, people, experiences. emotions, successes, failures, and so much more.. woven into an intricate web Too complicated to escape from, Too messy to make sense of, Too deep to fully understand, Too sticky at times to navigate through. As we pick up new tricks, The web gets trickier. We struggle and keep fighting Unraveling one puzzle after another. We struggle to pave our way through the one-way ticket… the journey from birth to death.
This post was written in response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #154. The challenge for this week was to “to see it as a background on which you have to write something.”
I interpreted that as a prompt leads you and publish a post on your own blog that responds to the prompt. Click on the link to know more about this challenge and to read the entries…

It came as no surprise to anyone when she entered the arena and found it inhabited by winged predators. It was popularly held theory that the destructive virus was bred in the confines of this space. The people who dared to speak had been eliminated. The eerie silence was pregnant with terror and horror. The darkness got dense, but she … Continue reading Take us out of here….
The late morning was clear and crisp as Sawyer stepped out of the travel hostel. He was on a much-needed vacation, and had decided to go it alone. On the bus, he noticed Radhika, an Indian girl who was holidaying alone, and was chirpy enough to sat Hello to everyone out there. Guiltily, he admitted … Continue reading Sweet revenge

Web of emotions ….. by Ramya Tantry
And Miles to go before I sleep...

I started weaving a web,
Web of emotions,
Emotions that I started feeling and emotions that I expressed..
Little did I know , the web that I weaved had entangled so much trapping me inside..
Mindfield ……. by Punam
Sometimes
the jumbled neurons are a dense tangled web
not letting a shard of sense to penetrate
yet the synaptic cleft is a coarse sieve
through which dark, biased thoughts slither
into the cauldron of disquiet subconscious
poisoning the process of perception
infiltrating the inviolable memory bank
leaving long held beliefs comatose
the communication between
the conscious and the subconscious
totters on the verge of total collapse
But then
learned behaviour kicks in
an antidote to the tenebrous paralysis
sometimes a battle is won or two lost
in this ongoing exhausting war
the surface calm belying the struggle within
giving up often seems the best recourse
stubborn heels dig in then.
The Mind …. by cozyquietcorner
Written for Reena’s Exploration Challenge #154.

I watch the clear crystals, these raindrops, trail and gather at the ledge of the shed.
One by one, they drip down and fall into the puddle below; purity giving way to the muddy milieu.
And I ponder…
In my mind, I feel the darkness gather at the edge and watch them branch into the void. The cobweb strands sink into my psyche; fear, anger, pain, guilt, insecurity, greed, loneliness, jealousy..
Playing hide and seek, shades shadow these threads. They refine my sanctuary, define my thoughts till they morph.
The spider’s web catches a fly.
Sanity flutters its wings.
These are just some thoughts that randomly invaded my mind looking at the image.
