He laid awake and said the name into the night.

He has been repeatedly doing it for the past few nights.

When she asked if he’ll take her out, he said deadline is on my head and I can’t.

When she asked if he could accompany her for the regular check up, he had the reason of the deadline.

When she requested him to make it a movie night with her, ‘Don’t you know I have a deadline’, pat came the reply.

When she was gazing the stars all alone, he was there furiously typing away, trying to beat the deadline.

Now, after waiting for long, when she was suddenly gone, he finally felt his heart missing a beat.

In his quest to meet the deadline, he unknowingly ignored her needs and love, but her life had a deadline too, which he forgot to meet.

Her presence taken for granted…

Tick tock runs the clock

We spend our lives rushing through the maze that’s life

Hurry, hurry, times-a-wasting

The clicks, the beeps, tapping and buzzing

All reminding us that time is passing

Don’t get caught in a downward spiral

It will drag you deep into the rabbit hole

Break the chains that confine you, binds your life

Mired in a labyrinth,

a constant battle ensues

keeping pace with

each passing moment.

Fraught with the burden of

schedules and targets

payments and presentations

books and exams,

digital inundation,

competing with the

frenzy of the ticking clock

pressure mounts.

Often,

the emotional dam bursts,

a deluge of chaos transpires.

Evanescent,

time lures us

into its deceptive loop.

Life shrinks

as # deadline is trending now!
