#238. REMEMBERING HER

The first and quickest one this week — from Ramya Vivek

Ramya Vivek's avatarMy Musings

This is her first time on the Ferris Wheel. As she laughed with unbridled joy, the twinkle in her eyes instantly transported me to the time, when I took her mom for the first time in the same ferry wheel. I still laugh everytime, remembering how she had screamed and held onto me for her dear life. As we got out of our Gondola once the ride was over, forgetting that she was the one screaming at the top of her lungs, she jumped up and down, coaxing me for another ride.

I got back to the present when a small hand shook me out of my reverie. I didn’t realize the ride was over. ‘One more round papa’, as I saw her jumping in glee trying to persuade me with her innocent eyes, I could definitely sense a pattern there.

Power

“It was never meant to be an equal world. Paucity of resources created inequality amongst competing tribes, and we invented power.” The young assistant eagerly types his bytes in her device. The Witches Garden

"Turn around, and your expression will tell me the story." "Promise you won't scream...." the voice sounds different. Turn around she does, and I don't scream. I'm mesmerised into silence by her beauty. I know I'll key in my credit card number next, and buy what I can't afford. The manner in which witches are … Continue reading The Witches Garden

Recognition

I found you somewhere there, in those toys for garage sale .... (maybe your bloated ego) Really? You cared enough to find me? Only you could have chucked out that red doll - so precious to my deprived childhood, and hoped to see me amongst buyers. The nth minute

See the source image

A mammoth task stands unfinished

The time is now, either I do or die

The fault is all mine, I lacked foresight

This fact, to myself atleast, I cannot lie

Putting it off every single day,

No prioritisation, No planning

Pushed it till the eleventh hour

My asinine reasons are unforgiving

Accepting the state of the present

Facing fears, taking challenge head on

My brain, is at its creative best

Ideas spewing up like popcorn!!

In response to Reena’s Exploration challenge, Sammi’s Weekend writing prompt: asinine and Eugi’s weekly prompt: foresight. Thanks for hosting these challenges:-)

This took me back to Engineering days. We had eight semesters to complete. The final semester had only one subject in curriculum and we had to do one project too. After slogging through the seven sems, we felt very light at the eighth. “This is the last semester we…
