English translation here – Original Hindi poem below
MY WILL

let her read inscriptions on my heart
my epitaph will speak, not accuse

one more admirer goes on the block
let her gloat on headlines in news

she will come, but a little too late
waiting eyes still open, will give all clues

I hope my emotions find destinations
unopened letters want reader’s reviews

If a few breaths are still hanging
let her read love letters – bemused

Bubble

I walk inhaling the morning fragrance through a mask, after a long time.  A child sprints past me, blowing bubbles from a glass. She is not wearing a mask. Somehow, I wish she had stopped to smile at me, or exchange some childish banter. I look back, but she has not noticed my presence. Maybe … Continue reading Bubble

Pointers

They paid the bill, and moved out after a satisfying meal. He looked lost, turning back again and again, and for no perceptible reason - she feared losing him. Theirs was an intense, volatile and cross-cultural relationship which had survived the last two years. “I hope you are not thinking about going back home.” “Nope, … Continue reading Pointers

Waiting

He has not eaten an apple for more than a decade. It is that time of the year again. Fruit vendors from the valley crowded markets with their stalls, inviting prospective buyers to come take a bite. He looks around for that rosy glow on a smooth cheek behind the counters, but is disappointed again. … Continue reading Waiting
