Navigating currents

“I’m moving out - to live independently.” “A heavy silence hung in the air.” “Well, I cannot stop you from doing so. But I guess you have luxuries in this house, you won’t be able to afford on your own, just yet.” “Sure, but I have no freedom. I want to launch my own startup, … Continue reading Navigating currents

“Is this Gloria Smith the same girl from your class, who migrated to England?” “The face looks familiar, but yet, I’m not sure.” “The red hair are as you described it.” “Well, colours of memory changed with the advent of hair colour. The nefarious strategies of the opposition party have been exposed. “You know that, because it is what the media tells you, and no one is talking about strategies of the ruling party. On the city roads

On the city’s roads …..by Aishwarya

On the city roads,

Against the blaring horns,

With each vehicle nudging past another as if running an unknown race,

Moving an inch seems nothing short of a struggle,

The flow of these serpentine line of vehicles boggle,

Start and end seem they’d topple,

As two wheelers zip past,

And pedestrians hastily cross,

Every hour is a busy hour,

Clocking a minute earlier than the previous day,

Is nothing short of a champion’s victory.

On the city roads,

Accelerating the vehicle forward safely is a worth a sight,

Even though ostriches burying their head is a myth,

I wouldn’t think twice to do the same and travel underground,

That’s when I got an idea to build my house askew to easily access Earth beneath,

To avoid the busy brightly lit city roads.

Anti-fragile

Aligned shoulder blades and a confident gait set her apart from the crowd. It felt like the metro station turned into a ramp, and escalators moved slow, just because she walked on it. Maybe, it was his perspective. He was seeing her after a long gap. The beauty was intact, but fragility had disappeared. His … Continue reading Anti-fragile

You made a choice

Remember you said ‘dictatorship is good - to meet a goal’. You made a choice in that moment - to be walked upon, to become irrelevant, to write someone else’s story, to fulfil someone else’s dream. You chose to surrender your voice. The underlying desire was to trample on people you abhor, but you were … Continue reading You made a choice
