I don’t want to go Halloweening,

The egg at the back boiled dry.

I’ll only end up scrambled,

my brains will all be fried.

I don’t want to go Halloweening,

I don’t want to miss my show,

I have just brought a new Stetson.

As flat as an omelette it will go.

I’ll go as white as a ghost,

If I see a witch’s cat,

my cracked shell will be toast.

I don’t want to go Halloweening,

let’s all stay indoors,

Put a great show on the TV,

have humans for dinner instead.

life is hard
being used, abused and tossed about
but generally something good can come of it

but to be chosen
over and over while watching those remaining
experience the afterglow of seeing another day

… it cracks me up

We celebrate the festival of Dassera tomorrow, which celebrates the victory of good over evil – victory of Ram over a 10-headed monster, Ravan.

The story is complex, as boundaries between good and evil keep blurring all the time. The so-called monster is a learned scholar and a king with several blessings to his credit, and cannot be painted all black.
