Relax ….. by tiredhamster
The year
raging in our window.
The street is on fire,
shots pounding against sky,
the stars screaming again,
and somewhere, someone
singing.
Close the blinds,
turn up the TV,
maybe next year will be better,
but I can’t convince it so.
We have no part.

Unrecognizable …. by Raelyn Pracht
Lost expression
Broken reflection in the glass
Lost expression
Vacant, black, hollow eyes stare back
Piercing darkness permeates through
Leaning closer, I question “who?”
Lost expression

It’s getting worse, I know it is, but I’m not a victim.
I will learn to live with my blindness, learn to be me again.
I listen to another tutorial, get used to the monotone voice telling me what my eyes should be seeing. It is difficult, and I want to throw my mobile as far as it would go, but I need to persevere.
If I don’t I’ll be defined by my disability.
