2020 had its moments, but I mostly remember it for the pandemic, global lockdowns and people being out of work.  I guess the best thing that happened was that Trump had been voted out of office, although he didn’t want to leave, and all this election madness followed.  I need to mention the Breonna Taylor and George Floyd incidences that took place, and it is hard to forget the forest fires and hurricanes that we had.  The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement of 2020 brought racism into the forefront of everyone’s life and people started talking about defunding the police.  It was hard to watch the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota being shown on TV every day and I kept yelling at my set for the officer to take his knee off George’s throat and let him breathe.

Numerous wildfires were burning across California, Oregon, and Washington fueled by hot, dry climate…

Yes

i’ve said yes
a million times
on many events
on many occassions
on many circumstances
it felt good seeing the smiles
and sighs of relief of people
i’ve given my “yes” to but nothing
compares to when i said “yes” to you.
it was my biggest “yes” ever
the kind of “yes” that leads us to forever.

the year is 2022.
i said “yes” to many more years with you.

Beware! This ain’t a parody of skepticism,

This ain’t a pain of longing,

Is it an illusion that I’ll be remembered after I’m gone,

Maybe for a day or two or a year in the immediate circle, perhaps?

They aren’t to be blamed for neglecting-

Life rests for none,

Sun rises and sets same as before,

I’m but a bridge to be crossed over,

Is it an illusion that I’ll be remembered after I’m gone,

Time and people move on,

Sometimes long before I’m gone!
