Conspiracy Theories and Misinformation

Conspiracy theories and misinformation….by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

I am skeptical and I don’t believe in any of the major conspiracies that are being perpetuated on the internet around the world.  I do believe that there have been government cover-ups and becoming a whistleblower and shining light on the government is an essential part of accountability, but I think that sightings of UFOs, and hairy humanoids are ridiculous.  Donald Trump called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to release information regarding alleged dealings between Eastern European oligarchs and Hunter Biden, but after Senate investigations, no evidence of wrongdoing was produced.  If Tom Brady could destroy his phone to prevent anyone from seeing his texts on deflating the footballs, then what is stopping Hunter Biden from doing the same.  Trump has more business dealing with the Russian oligarchs than Hunter ever had, so this is a lot like the pot calling the kettle black.  We will probably never know what…

RIDDLES

A medley of inexplicable characters, un-ascribed motives and news headlines… A place that deals with hardcore money and nothing but money feels surreal. A politician’s nephew alleges that jewels worth 5 million are stolen from his safe deposit vault, while the keys are safely held by him at home. A committee is constituted to investigate, … Continue reading RIDDLES

Squeezed

I’m happy that I survived the churning of the washing machine, my insides being squeezed out to enable quick drying. Finally, I see sunlight…. not just in the balcony, but in the eyes of my friend who is ready to cuddle me once again. After all, I’m his only confidante. I know that his teacher … Continue reading Squeezed

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from“A Pan for Christmas”by Gillena Cox:parade, tabanca, gatherings, steelpan, music, grocery, safe, teacher, angel, top, ambition, forget

Hard to forget the year that was

Pandemic came and gatherings pause

Not safe to go to grocery without a mask

No parade, no time to revel and bask

With music health workers we applause

Music with steelpan or do tiktok just because

Nowhere to go, hardly used our cars

Ambition halt, just in the house with task

Hard to forget

On top of it a lot of social media faux pas

Not sure of the meaning and the cause

Angel of death and a wooden cask

A painful tabanca with my face mask

Shop online on that year that was

Hard to forget*
