“You failed to fulfil your duties as a wife and mother”…. screamed accusing fingers. But who says a wife and mother is not an individual, and has her own needs and desires. The fingers folded into fists which broke through the windows on her private existence. It was an identity crisis for them. How could … Continue reading Nirvana

RANDOM DREAMS

Wonderers:

I remember when I painted for the fun of it. Swishing and swirling colors to reflect my inner most, sensitive feelings of love and happiness. What do you do when you lose that feeling. When all your dreams fade to grey.

I look at the canvas but I can’t invoke the desire to lift the brushes to start anything. I want to use yellow. I need to smell blue. You probably don’t believe colors have smells and feelings. In my experience it’s true. It is all apart of my emotional state of well being and I miss it. So I think paint…but I need a little more time to get it all together.

So, what am I doing now you might ask? I’m answering the call of family. I have picked up the old crochet hook and started teaching…

Random Dreams … by Destiny

Throw your anguish to
heavens high, traumatize them
with your souls outcry

Paint the sky, colors
of your angry scars, haunt them
with your agony

Smear across the moon
raw wounds in hues bold, torment
them with your burdens

Coat the stars in screams,
torture with irate visions
of your random dreams

Color Your World

Color your World …. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

Color makes objects easier to see and it separates painting from drawing, bringing life and vibrancy to paintings and sketches.  Every color creates different emotions and feelings, and certain colors are associated with specific feelings like warmth and others with being cool.  Colors close to the red spectrum are warmer colors, and they include red, orange, and yellow.  These warm colors evoke emotions ranging from warmth, comfort, optimism and energy to feelings that signal danger or make you feel angry and hostile.  They can evoke higher arousal emotions, such as love, passion, happiness, and excitement.  Whereas blue colors like purple and green are inked to calmness, sadness, indifference, relaxing, soothing and healing.  These reactions are rooted in psychological effects, biological conditioning and cultural imprinting.  Color is a fundamental physical property of light that humans perceive differently dependent on the individual person.

So, which is the prompt? The words or the image?

It’s your choice. Choose one or both to take you to a different world.

There is no restriction on format of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

Colorblind

It felt like a bolt of lightning!

Griffin sat straight up in bed with a shiver.

Had he always dreamt in color?

“What difference does that make you stupid fool. It was just a random dream.”

It was amazingly vivid. But spattered paintbrushes in a rainbow of colors are all I can recall of it. It must have been the result of that spicy midnight snack. Lesson learned.

It was only a few minutes before his alarm would go off, so Griffin Prime jumped out of bed and readied himself for work.
His morning energy felt electric…

Relationships

“Relationships are not sacred any more”, rants Aunt Agnes again. Her son is going through his fourth divorce, for reasons he is unable to explain. I’m getting wiser after silently listening to Gen Next on social media, online dating/matrimonial sites and in person. At times, they need a visa to the land of opportunities, and … Continue reading Relationships
