Sunday Poser # 115

Sadje asks a pertinent question here ….

Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;

What is one advice you wished you can give your younger self?

It all depends on what stage of life my younger self is in. In her childhood days, I’d tell her not to be too concerned with what others thought of her. People are usually too involved with their own lives to give much thought to others around them.

To my teenage self, I’d advise her to not react to her emotions too much. She needs to be more pragmatic and look at life more practically.

To myself as a young mom, I’d tell her to stop fretting about being a perfect mother and to concentrate on being a more understanding and loving mom. Though I think that the kids would still have complaints regarding her style of parenting!

What would you advise your younger self and at…

Preparing for the End

I often talk about this subject in my financial literacy sessions. What does one need to do from a financial angle to prepare for the ultimate truth – your exit from the world? I give below a few pointers and questions. Study the succession laws in your country in detail. Write a will. It can … Continue reading Preparing for the End

The Lament of Gaia #JusJoJan 2023

The Lament of Gaia …. by Aboli Mane

Aboli Mane's avatarA Writer In The Room

Hello! I’ve decided to join in on Just Jot It January hosted by Linda G. Hill. Today’s prompt is “reversal” by Sadje.

Sunil sat alone in the cramped airless cabin. Ivory walls enclosed him on all sides. He sat resignedly on the bunk bed that some chap had taken the care to line with a hard mattress. Sunil didn’t mind. He had weathered many homeless years on the streets of an indifferent metropolis. This was a luxury. The only things his hands ached for were a pencil and a diary. A paperback would be nice too. Too unfortunate that reading was not necessary these days.

Oh well, the world was ending anyway. The earth had wobbled off its orbit and a devastating solar storm had wiped out the galaxy. Some power in the universe had snapped, perhaps its patience with humans had ended.

The only thing that bothered…

Do I believe in predictions?

Do I believe in predictions? —- by Sadje

Sadje/ Sadie's avatarKeep it alive

I have chosen words or situations for this week’s prompt from Baba Vanga’s predictions for 2023.

  • Devastating solar storm
  • Explosion in a nuclear plant
  • Human birth in laboratories
  • Alien attacks
  • Earth changing its orbit
  • Bioweapons

➰➰➰

You tell me that the future can be foretold

That a person can predict, see with unseeing eyes

All that lies ahead, years and decades away

Is the future like a book some can read and see

Or is this clever guesswork, based on current facts

There are things that are possible, but not probable

I haven’t seen any signs of alien invasion except in movies and shows

I do believe that….

If we kept going like we are, we may be the ones responsible for

What might cause a nuclear weapons or a nuclear plant to explode

Bio weapons, are already something we apprehend the misuse of

A day when the earth…

it’s okay just don’t despair.

the earth is changing so fast
laboratories might give birth
to world’s future brilliant leader
it’s fine though, just be a dreamer.

the earth is changing fast
and you my dear maybe lost
it’s alright, just be with me
and be my love.

New Era … By Destiny

Reena’s prompt #263

I’m a teacher by nature, so here’s a tale of earth’s anger.

Once upon a devastating solar storm, the explosion in a nuclear plant caused a major deform. Unleashing bioweapons through disease producing agents with inevitable lasting damage that would earth transform.

In all this drama, total chaos reigned with trauma from alienattacks, that escaped from the tilt of earth changing its orbit because of unsteady climate.

The devastating ruins of earth’s reality enraged the little green men so badly, they schemed to rid the planet of humans. They searched but found none, for humanity had destroyed themselves through their very own artificial intelligent mentality.

No doubt the aliens would now rule and bring about stories of new generations. They would name it the era of “humans birth in laboratories.”
