Her very many colors --- by Artie and Stu
My friend cribs about her tough life in a sales job, her monstrous boss and unfair incentive schemes. Clearly, she does not enjoy her job - nor did I. But being conversant with something helped me navigate the downturns better. I steer the conversation to what she’d like to do – lounge around in pyjamas, … Continue reading On the other side

equal pay, rights, is all we are asking. The same as

Equality and equity for all women and disabled people …. by Carol Anne
I am disabled
And I am a woman
I deserve equality
And equity
Most disabled people
And even most women
Don’t get this
But we should!
I strive
To inform
The world
That
Women are strong
Its not the end of the world
To be disabled
Disabled people are strong, too!
Please treat all women
And all disabled people
With respect
With equity
And as equals

Equality in everything —- by Jim Adams
Does making things equal for everyone go against the law of survival of the fittest? If everything were equal in this world, what would happen to competition? Motivation is a driving force of human life and without it, nothing would ever be accomplished. In Animal Farm, George Orwell said that “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” Power is always abused and there is no such a thing as an honest politician. Most people are destined to be followers because they lack ambition and the determination to be in charge. It has been said that “Equality is giving everyone a shoe. Equity is giving everyone a shoe that fits. Justice is when we don’t need to give everyone a shoe because they can get their own shoe and that shoe will fit.” Equity is the quality of being fair and impartial and that is more…

Welcome back! It has been a wonderful week for me with outstanding contributions to RXC#270. The links are posted in the weekly wrap below. Another highlight was a conversation with Susi Bocks. She needs no introduction on this space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_yN28sXCb0 She came up with a bright suggestion that the theme for next week's prompt should … Continue reading Reena’s Xploration Challenge #271

Momoetry ….. by Nicole Smith

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day. We’ve come a long way, but there is still much that needs improved. People throw around the word feminist like it’s a bad word. The definition of feminism is the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of equality of the sexes. Not considering women’s basic rights is outdated and backwards. Expressing disdain for feminism shows your true colors and how you feel about the women in your life.
Let’s celebrate International women’s day by going out for drinks. It’s 2023. As a woman I still can’t get too drunk because if something happens, I could still be blamed for being intoxicated. We must watch our drinks to make sure something is not slipped into them. We have to watch what we wear, instead of wearing what makes us feel comfortable or makes us feel beautiful. We are judged on the outfit, given personality…
