Unanswered Questions

What happens to unanswered questions?
Do they keep seeking perfection
or mutate to fit available answers?

Whose expertise will they seek?
-the thinker who waits in silence,
or the know-it-all
who stitches fragments
into makeshift truths?
.
Do they hang like forgotten masks
in the attic of the mind,
waiting for a face
bold enough to wear their silence?

Will you run to escape questions
Or chase them to seek answers?
Will you let them tear you apart
till you touch your core
and choose to stay there?

When the last question turns into a doorway of light,
will you step through…
or discover that
you have been the question all along?

  1. The last line makes me think of an enigma. A long time ago, I was once called enigmatic and at the time I felt quite proud of that assignment. But after a while I began to wonder if it was really a good thing. I’m still undecided.

    Great write Reena 👏

  2. Your verse reminds me of the comedy sci fi book series; “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe”… the answer was 42.

“In The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy42 is the “Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything,” calculated by the supercomputer Deep Thought after 7.5 million years. The joke is that the answer is meaningless because the actual, underlying question was never known.”

Hmmm… Is life just one big joke?
