Quiet Awakening

When I pick one, the universe gives me a lens to change the view.

What is it that I long for? Is it really absent in my life, or is it my limited view?

Where do I go to get it and remove the sense of inadequacy?

A belligerent TV channel suddenly switched political alignment for a fortnight. It turned out their TRPs had fallen drastically, and they were trying to attract opponents to sign on.

When humans turn scarecrows, they focus only on their purpose – to drive away sanity and enrol followers.

It appears that the population is in a daze, looking for someone to hold their hands and guide them. They are not sleeping; they are inebriated with excess. They go with the majority, cut each other to pieces and assume they will be rewarded for loyalty. Very few of them make it to the reward stage, but all those who oppose with a conscience are metaphorically annihilated.

The followers now have no alternative path or strategy. They hold on desperately to a tyrant’s coattails. Hoping to land in a heavenly future by deriding and repainting the past. History books change their texts; leaders change their masks.

abandon
enlighten yourself
look within
walk alone
let the sleeping disease chase
mute awakening

  1. Both the poems/ Haibun are spot on Reena. We indeed are mixed up and undecided in the majority. The social media has taken away our power to tell the right from the wrong. Thank you for joining in with these powerful poems.
