Storehouses of Energy

Thank you for the fascinating piece on the life of atoms, Jim!

I will share how my thoughts on atoms and cells have shaped my understanding of healing and personal growth.

The power of atoms, or of a single cell, amazed me when I read about the amoeba in Biology class. I loved the organism’s shape-shifting nature and wondered what life would be like if I possessed that quality.

Her healing practice is based on listening to stories and touching different parts of the body. This approach suggests that emotional memories held in the body can be gently released. These memories can also be understood.

Viewing the body as a library of emotions highlights how touch can unlock healing and deepen our connection to life.

Healing is a gentle, flowing process. It is like a soft conversation between hand and heart. This process allows sorrow to flow back into the river of life.

I often see rocks as a storehouse of silent history. I wonder why holding certain rocks gives us a sense of comfort. Other rocks make us want to throw them away. Is it about how our emotions at the moment connect with what is stored in the rock?

I have no answers, and it’s only my imagination.

  1. Quite informative piece, Reena. Beautifully written.

IMO, if stones or rocks are smooth and round in shape, we connect with them emotionally. Rough edges make us feel uneasy.
Just like a diamond doesn’t impress us as much in its raw form as it does after being cut and polished. Also, colours play a major role in our emotional connection. Maybe I’m wrong.

(Psychological responses to objects, including rocks, are highly individual and subjective. While there is no scientific consensus that specific types of rocks inherently cause comfort or uneasiness in all people, an individual’s personal experiences, cultural background, and beliefs can lead to these feelings.) This is what Google says.)

  2. You have quite the imagination, Reena. An amoeba will move away from toxins in a petri dish, and human instinct tends to avoid discomfort which helps keep us safe, but when it comes to emotions, resistance often makes things worse, as what we resist, still persists.  Practicing somatic awareness allows us to process and understand our own story eventually allowing us to respond to what our body needs.
