Paddle fights

I bow in gratitude to the silent skill of the paddle in cutting through the currents. I admire its strength in going against the stream and taking the boat ahead.

paddle fights
steering aspirants
beyond nights
dark to dawn
Destinations stretch to meet
determination

It teaches us how to navigate life when we face resistance. It takes a will to dive, a firm stroke and steady movement.

  1. hi reena, i’ve never really thought about the challenges of paddling, and how paddling can be a lesson in determination. but yes, i’ve fought the current (many times), and as i’ve gotten older, have learned to start against the current, so “coming home” is smooth sailing. loved what you did here!!! xx, ren

  2. I think paddling must be one of the most peaceful of forays into nature – the dip of the paddle, the stillness, the splashes of water. I like your note about paddling teaching us to navigate life when we face resistance. So wise.

  3. What a powerful and beautifully articulated metaphor. You haven’t just described a paddle; you’ve unveiled a profound philosophy for life.

The image of the paddle “fighting” to steer “beyond nights / dark to dawn” is incredibly vivid. It transforms the simple act of rowing into a heroic, determined journey. The line “Destinations stretch to meet determination” is pure genius—it flips the script, suggesting that our goals actively move toward us when we persist with courage.

This is a magnificent reminder that resistance isn’t a barrier, but the very medium through which we propel ourselves forward. Thank you for this inspiring and insightful piece.
