“A whistleblower and a hacker have created havoc with our systems and profitability, and both happen to be former employees”, whined the CEO in the Board meeting.
The seniormost member with grey hair had a grim look on his face, “There was a time when a worker was handed back his sack of tools when he was terminated. Do you have an equivalent process defined in the employment contracts?”
“Our legal consultants have put every possible condition in the contracts, including the destruction of company-owned content on their personal devices. However, the volatile nature of data makes it very difficult to retain control. Plugging knowledge leaks is no joke if it needs to be maintained within boundaries.”

They can export data while working for you and already have all they need when fired. It’s a new world out there.

Data is hard to control. Adding to the confusion is one doesn’t even know if the data is accurate.
