Needs Analysis

I recall living in a house with a sloping roof. Getting it cleaned was difficult. It turned out that a Dutch architect had designed the homes and provided for the melting of snow. Snow is unheard of on the Indian plains.

What we need here is more housing to accommodate the burgeoning population, and they could have built more apartments with flat roofs.

How often do we deliver our best without considering the needs of the recipients? Why is selling a refrigerator to an Eskimo considered smart?

rain floods thirsty roots
pipes gleam in barren highlands
lotus blooms in dust.

    1. Each geography has different needs.

Ideally, we should not have too many carpets and rugs here given the dust in tropical weather, but those are used for the grandeur they lend to interiors.

  1. You pose a very good question. You know here in the states if you drive through any town or city there are buildings upon buildings that are empty and left to fall apart. No one wants them, they want to build new. Well, why not let the homeless people stay there if they are going to just sit and rot. I mean people say that there are implications to that but it at least gets people off the streets. What’s the difference between a city street where the homeless are lined up along the buildings walls with their belongings in trash bags and an empty building, that might end up gross since no one is cleaning it, but either way it will probably be torn down.

      1. I understand that it isn’t ideal but the thing is, anyone living on the street is putting themselves in danger so wouldn’t it be better if they could just have a roof over their head or walls to block out the wind. Around us now there are hundreds of condos being built. We can’t even begin to think about how these are going to get filled. Unfortunately, a lot of these communities end of derelict after some years. Its no longer a new place so people move out to find “better”. Then they are sold for less than the original since they aren’t new.
