The Point of No Return

Mythology frustrates me
-if gods and demons could swap masks at will
What is “divine” but a lie rehearsed in temples,
What is “evil” but a trick of better lighting?
Impossible was fiction, like infinity
miracles forged in molten deceit,
betrayals spun into prophecies,
history rewritten in the ink of illusion.

AI clones echo in a hall of mirrors,
make me long to dissolve,
to ripple like liquid mercury,
neither form nor fracture—
a cypher in a circuitry of sameness,
to remain inimitable, indivisible,
undetectable by algorithms

Then I glance behind—
See phoenixes born from cinders,
molten identity curled on thresholds,
I scorched and stepped across.
Every doorway closed like a chapter
I poured myself into crucibles of becoming,
cast and shattered –
wings remade from different ash.

There is no return once you name yourself—
not as they wrote you
but as you forged yourself from fractured myths
into something breathing truth and fire.

  1. Thought-provoking. What a deep dive this is and so eloquently expressed. I especially love this…”a cypher in a circuitry of sameness,
    to remain inimitable, indivisible,
    undetectable by algorithms”

  2. Some gorgeous lines in this, Reena. I love these:

“I poured myself into crucibles of becoming,
    cast and shattered –
    wings remade from different ash.”

“There is no return once you name yourself—

…into something breathing truth and fire.”
