Words

Words
escape neural pathways
to find their place in the world
before I can incarcerate them on a page

Words
disappear in the night
captured by someone in the name of
synchronicity; employed in another story

Words
choose their owners and stories;
Not everyone looks up the Synonyms page
Not every word is found when you need it most

Words
join context and expressions
to play your game; Harness them
in the right setting with the right leash

  2. Yes, a great insight into how those words can escape us or are not as good as they were when they came to us in the night and kept us awake. I love the leash and harness imagery and perhaps that is how we need to train ourselves to find the words we need.
