Enablers

It is a place where relationships lived, revived or died with conversations. Connectedness was the keyword.

Plants in the same space are watered regularly, but are starved of oxygen.

What kind of oxygen are you referring to?

I remember how I felt renewed and invigorated after hearing your voice. Texts do not have the same effect.

I’ll start sending voice messages.

How about real-time connectivity?

There was silence at the other end as she checked her calendar and meetings for the day. It might be difficult to even check or record messages.

Lifestyles have changed. Technology is only an enabler.

  1. Nice use of the prompt. I always hated telephone calls – the disembodied voice and lack of facial expressions throws me off. As a former letter writer, I keep more connected nowadays with text. FaceTime is good too, but I don’t use that as much as I’d need to sit still for that!

  2. I liked your technology connection here and up until a week ago, I might not have understood that some people find it a challenge to even “listen” to a voice message – but it IS the case – and pretty sad that our schedules are so busy to where we cannot record or check voice messages the way we likely should.
