Not-so-smart use of smartphone

I’m weary of using too many apps as apps steal data from the phone, with or without our consent.

I prefer uninstalling unused or rarely used apps and reinstalling them when necessary.

I do not store identity documents in the Gallery, as certain apps have access to the gallery.

I deleted transaction alerts from the bank after seeing those.

All this may appear far-fetched to some, but I prefer caution over regret.

Yet, phones listen to voice and respond.

Quite often, I find recipes in my Google feed after verbally mentioning some ingredients. There’s no problem with that, though.

I like to use LinkedIn, Inshot, and Notepad. I also check email and WhatsApp on the phone. I was fascinated with FlipBoard once upon a time, but I cannot find sufficient time for it now, so I uninstalled it.

The phone camera is handy for clicking or video-recording the antics of my dogs.

A significant part of reading news is also done on the phone, unless statistical tables are involved.

I buy Kindle books more than physical books. Reading on the phone is convenient, but it strains the eyes. I’ve switched to a tablet, but the weight is causing pain in the upper arm. I need to find a way to read comfortably.
