Writing Prompts

Welcome back!

FEATURED POEM FROM LAST WEEK

Enjoy a Sijo from David

the wind carries every leaf
yet leaves dance while they're yet afloat;
branches bend; we fall with time
but we ought pirouette with grace;
though our journeys end in dust
spirit shall root us deeper

PROMPT #367

The image above shows the largest banyan tree in India. Details about this tree are available here.

Well, you can skip the link and the history of the tree. It is called the “living coffin.” It is interesting to note that banyan trees sprout from seeds that fall on the branches of an existing tree. The tree then grows roots downwards and gradually kills the host tree.

As you must have guessed, the theme for today’s prompt is

THE BANYAN TREE

The format of the piece is not restricted, and there is no last date either unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

We will not include any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar or hurts ordinary sensibilities. This needs to be a safe space.

Create a post on your blog and copy-paste the link in the Comments. If you use a pingback, check to see if it has worked.
