The teacher had this nasty habit of writing test scores on the board.
The toppers enjoyed the applause for sure, but many secretly wished it was not all put out in the open. Why should everyone know he prefers playing with his dog to solving algebra equations? Nobody cares to know that he draws and paints better than the entire class.
He would stay back late and wipe off the test scores.
He wrote positive things about himself and what he loved doing and then cleaned that.
Years later, that artist told this story about how he discovered his strengths and stopped focusing on his weaknesses.
He is sure his teacher wonโt agree and hopes she does not read this interview.

This piece is rich with life-lessons! Loved it, Reena!

A very insightful story Reena. Itโs not fair to highlight the weaknesses of someone openly while ignoring their strengths. Thanks for joining in.

Thank you, Elizabeth! I publish test scores in the chatbox in my banking training sessions, but verbally mention names of only the top three, or those whose scores have drastically improved.

We are all good at something, and teachers will ask students in the school I work in.
