Missed Alarms

Those suppressed sounds, reverberate on snooze, buttons pressed to let them sleep

dreams clutched tight stalk, awake-ephemeral,  moments of moldable clay

capacity, drives borrowed consciousness,  alarms ring in twilight zones

the day I know, why I stepped out of bed, darkened suns will fly aglow

a song will play, parting silent lips now, bells will welcome a new day

let alarms scream; purpose will silence, excitement of open eyes

each step will run, marathons in miles, overcome minefields with light

the sound afloat, on far horizons, reminds me of missed alarms
