Sublime

celebrating existence
from a baby shower
to birthdays
and all those designated ‘Days’
for various roles in life
I wonder if the world is truly blessed
to have me
or is it the other way round

I examine the bonds closely
and their frailty surprises me
what holds me to life
is an illusion
of multidirectional growth
of contribution
of relevance
whereas
I’ve been on a linear path
from the beginning
to a fast-approaching end

reasons I invented
dreams I nursed
self-reassurance
looks askance
in an attempt
to manufacture Reality

but the Real
stares at me
from the ground
from the clouds
from the winds
memory rewinds
epiphanies strike

singing a song
of mortality
of irrelevance
of impermanence
of life
and…
what feels real
yet so sublime
