A namesake died
Her husband’s phone
crackled under the weight
of RIP messages
She watched him in silent mode
imagined the world after her
quietly picked up his phone
“She will be missed,” says an arch-rival
missed for the challenges
or losing a bait?
“Hope the end was peaceful.”
says, someone
who never let her live in peace
“May you find strength in your bereavement.”
(and in a life of freedom)
-she chuckled in glee
She wrote a message
to the kith and kin
of her namesake
“My sincere thanks for all she did for me
Both In life and death.”

Oh, dear! Darkly humourous.

I fully concur with that. We have a local saying, “Good if they respond or help; even better if they don’t.” Because it helps you place the person correctly.

It just goes to show we never really know people, always something hidden.
