Limitations

The train clattered along the tracks…

She tried to decipher the sound but only inserted words into the clickety-clack.

We fool ourselves by saying that the universe sends us messages.

With the multiple blocks we carry lifelong, we let in only the messages that fit in with our preconceived notions.

Will the mind ever open up and be receptive to everything that comes sans filters?

It could be something scary; it could be death.

Or it could be a life on the other side, where we never wanted to go?

She stretched a hand outside the window, and then …

Dewdrops on the palm rearranged into patterns, words, and a new story.

She wanted to throw her body outside to receive more but was confined … just like all the limitations of the mind.

  1. “Will the mind ever open up and be receptive to everything that comes sans filters?” That only happens when we escape the Matrix, and all knowledge can be uploaded directly into our brains. 🙂
