an unusual shape
peeks through clouds
in unnamed colours
without a sound
Is it an alien taking stock
of conquerable planets?
Or a form of God
afraid of facing worlds
deemed to be his creation?
so unrecognisable now
this is not how it was planned
this is not what it was
meant to be
clouds part to give way
to unknown art
before the raindrops fall
and sing a song
of Potential
this stranger’s face
could have been yours
only if you had explored
being human
completely
selflessly
to touch the sky.

This gave me goosebumps Reena! Well done a wonderful poem!

I can imagine you imagining the face, and thinking about your unexplored potential. All the best, Carol!

Beautiful imagery Reena. I love through the clouds the “unnamed colours without a sound” and then they give way to “unknown art”, and “sing a song of Potential” – your verses sung in my head – really lovely

Reena I love the stranger in the clouds… Potential is a loaded word and it all depends on context! Great poem!

Potential is a terrifying word. It drives me as well as makes me feel incomplete

Depends on whether it is the potential for good or bad.
