sharp tongues
are a weapon of defence
though they offend
as much as swords
respect boundaries
to let warrior instincts
rest in peace
salute others
for letting others be
spare a thought
why you appear
as a threat
find a way
to allay fears
sharp tongues
are a weapon of defence
though they offend
as much as swords
respect boundaries
to let warrior instincts
rest in peace
salute others
for letting others be
spare a thought
why you appear
as a threat
find a way
to allay fears
There is a lot of truth in this verse, Reena.

It is the way we speak to others, and using our words rather than being angry works.

There is so much known about the ideal approach, but it disappears when anger (suppressed or instant) takes over.

Indeed, the most aggresive ones are the ones with most fears.

True ma’am ❤️ Words are the sharpest weapons, and how we wield them also matters!

Very true Sadje, I heard that from Imam Ali’s wisdom. I had created a post based on his sermons and here are a few quotes about the power of words:
He advised that words
until uttered
they remain in your control.
and surely silence can be
the most eloquent of replies.
look at what is being said
rather than who speaks it.
the tongue created so light
yet it has the power to devastate.
your secret is your prisoner
which if let loose
will instead make you its prisoner.
speak the truth
even if it be against you.
ask so that you may understand
and not in order to find fault.
speak only when your words
are more beautiful than silence.

Indeed Hazrat Ali was one of our most noble of companions. His quote and sermons are full of wisdom

Why don’t more people follow wise words? Why do people follow those who espouse conflict rather than those who promote peace?

Both words and gestures.

It cuts one to the core, but one has to keep moving stoically.
