I see snow changing colour from pristine white to pale yellow. Deep inside the frost, it senses the exit door.
It feels good to flow with the river, but it will still stop before mingling in the ocean. It will turn back and trace its journey before it becomes the ocean.
The reflection of the moon in water makes it stop in its tracks again. Who escaped to unite with the sky, and yet retain individuality?
a sliver of snow
hangs in the stratosphere
immortality

As zen-esque a haibun as I’ve read, Reena! Brava!
