Found Poem – Last Year’s First Eleven

claustrophobic between the greys

I’m sure an alien passed me by, not once but many times

blazing sun evaporating wet rivers

all sources of light hold a conference to discuss their future

mingle with nature here; valleys exhilarate

Unfastened seatbelts; willpower ready to leap

Balancing weight of existence with desire to fly

Do you see a thought shoot across the sky of existence like lightning?

Magnificence of thought!

-window of hope leading to a room where spring lives

stars holding secrets, moon playing guard

  1. Reena, the notion of an alien passing by, the blazing sun evaporating wet rivers, and the conference of sources of light contemplating their future create a rich tapestry of imagery. The balance between the weight of existence and the desire to fly is palpable!

  2. You have captured that ‘claustrophobic between the greys’, Reena, especially in these lines:
    ‘blazing sun evaporating wet rivers
all sources of light hold a conference to discuss their future’
    and
    ‘… valleys exhilarate
Unfastened seatbelts; willpower ready to leap
Balancing weight of existence with desire to fly’.
