crossing over
to your side of the moon
I want to see
where darkness hides
but sunlight blocks my path
blinds me yellow
I ache for relief
of the night
to crouch under constructed blankets
to sleep over demolished dreams
wake up with scales
lending unique vision
I see what I want to see
say what denigrates light
wanting my words
to lacerate sanity
it is no mean feat
to be a pessimist
yet display vanity

‘I see what I want to see
say what denigrates light
wanting my words
to lacerate sanity
it is no mean feat
to be a pessimist
yet display vanity’
Now, that’s a real pessimistwith an attitude.
Superb take.

Reena, your poem skillfully explores the nuanced interplay between darkness and light, both metaphorically and visually. The contrast between the desire to explore hidden depths and the blinding force of sunlight adds layers to the theme. Your words carry a raw honesty and complexity, creating a thought-provoking piece. Well done! ππ

Very well said, Reena… so hard to be a successful pessimist these days…
