Muddied boots tell us stories about the journey.
There could be invisible germs in the dirt that must be washed away – truth contaminated by imposed versions. Autobiographies are often selective memories with a lot of amnesia.
Let the storytellers go, let the dirt speak. Who deposited it there? Who did it meet and gel with to arrive at its present version? Are the boots adding to their value?
People pay to acquire a star’s obnoxious trivia. They eagerly consume stories.
Stories that grow into a thick forest sell, and it is tough to see the wood from the trees.

We all have our truths.
Nice perspective.

Awesome take, Reena! I guess that’s why I never liked autobiographies so much.

You’re right that people are very interested to read the stories of stars’ lives. And perhaps they should be more discerning about the ‘truths’ written in them. Well told.

Thank you, Margaret!
There are content factories churning out tidbits about them to build an image. A top star told his close celebrity friends that in every interview they give they have to mention the star as being wonderful. Endorsements matter.

Great story! I’ve written plenty of stories narrated by inanimate objects, but this is next level! Well done!

Thank you for the encouragement, Fleur! Would love to write a story narrated by inanimate objects. They see so much but are mute.

You are welcome, I love your angle from a muddy boot! Its a fun read. My first short story was narrated by an abandoned shopping trolley! There was an article in the local later about lazy people leaving them wherever, as they can use them to walk home with their groceries. So I wrote a story. That was 8 years ago. I did one about a cash register too. They’re fun to write.
